As promised, a new playlist! This is a list of some really great covers, not those crappy ones where some faux-rock boy band shouts and screeches it's way through a classic, but ones that'll make you go "whoah....that's that song?"

1. Can't Help Falling In Love With You - Ingrid Michaelson
2. Tiger Mountain Peasant Song - First Aid Kit [might only be able to find this on Youtube, search for the song titles, it's two girls in plaid shirts....and it's incredible]
3. Everytime - Glen Hansard
4. If I Had You - Nellie McKay
5. Toxic - Yael Naim
6. Between the Bars - Chris Garneau
7. By Starlight - Rockabye Baby!
8. Chasing Cars - Natasha Bedingfield
9. Crazy - Ray Lamontagne
10. Creep - Damien Rice
11. Feeling Good - Muse
12. Dream A Little Dream Of Me - The Mamas and the Papas
13. Float On - Goldspot
14. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Greg Laswell [the lyrics of this sound completely different in this version...very very good]
15. Singing In The Rain - Mint Royale
16. Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
17. Somewhere Over The Rainbow - The Blanks [Ted's band from Scrubs]
18. I Try - Ben Taylor
19. We Will Become Silhouettes - The Shins [Postal Service cover]
20. When Doves Cry - Romeo + Juliet [Baz Luhrman film soundtrack]

Enjoy! I'm putting a load of them on the iPod to the right as well.

I am the grottiest person alive right now. It was pancake day yesterday, so I bought Nutella and waffles [all the shops had run out of pancakes - humph] and I have now literally eaten about 8 waffles, and been eating out of the jar of Nutella with a knife. A knife.

But I had yoga today, which probably burnt off a couple of the calories, seeing as I was sweating like nobody's business at the end of it - intense. Whoever says yoga doesn't count as 'proper' exercise should come to my class, I'd show them a thing or two.

Aaaaand....this is my really cute outfit I wore yesterday! It's a lace top bought from eBay aaages ago, and customised, with a primark tunic dress I swapped the buttons of, with wet-look leggings, and my Paris necklace! I still can't get a hang of this self-portrait photo business though, mine all come out blurry or with a big flash, not sure how these blogger girls manage it...

Lovely playlist coming soon, very soon

I have had such a stressful week. After a weekend of doing absolutely nothing but downloading 100+ songs, I finally realised that if I actually want to get this 2000 word report in for Friday, I better get down to it, bucko.

So of course this meant again ridiculous amounts of procrastination, and after my lovely friend Laura gave me these Eiffel Tower keyrings she picked up, I went on a lovely ribbon rummage and now have two V.cute Parisienne-style necklaces, in silver & navy and gold & cream.

I wear them now and think to myself "teeheehee, I'm wearing a keychain!"

Whatever gets you through the day, huh?

I've been craving some new jewellery for a while now, and a sudden binge of reading of fashion blogs provoked me to go out and buy some bits and bobs to get creative with, and voila! It's a bit like a C.C. Skye bracelet, only done for about 1/100th of the price! It literally cost me about £2, for just the piece of chain and the two black and blue ribbons, and I adore it.

Can't wait for someone to ask me where I bought it...

P.S. I've been on a humongous downloading spree today [naughty naughty] and I've found the podcast KEXP Song Of The Day on iTunes. It offers a free song [pretty obviously] every day, with some amazing artists like Mates of State, Laura Veirs, Loney Dear and more.
Once you've downloaded it, you can right-click on the podcast and choose 'Create AAC version', which will turn it into a normal song in your library. And just like that, free music! And pretty legal too.....probably
.

I woke up, half naked, in my bed this morning, and my first thought was "Oh Fuck".
My second thought was "Fuck fuck fuck my head"

After a heavy night at a ball, I'm feeling pretty delicate, so here's my 'Oh Sweet Jesus, Everything Hurts Playlist':

Rockabye Baby!
[this is lullaby versions of songs from bands like The Beatles, Smashing Pumpkins etc] - anything really, but specifically 1979 or By Starlight
Lisa Hannigan - Ocean & A Rock
Sly & The Family Stone - Que Sera Sera
Chris Garneau - Baby's Romance
Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson - Winter Song
Bon Iver - the entire For Emma album
Margot & The Nuclear So and So's - Broad Ripple Is Burning
Iron & Wine - Passing Afternoon
